Peace
Waiting for the ferry, on Lake Lucerne.
Golden golden hour
This was not mentioned in the Ferry Schedule.
I could probably sit here all day. (at Weggis, Switzerland, waiting for the ferry back to Luzern).
Take the scenic route home
Along the Lake Lucern waterfront, in Switzerland.
Here come the ladies
One of the many drum+fife "cliques" marching through old-town Basel during "Fasnacht" - their version of Carnival. Truly extraordinary.
The fact that this person could play the h*** out of that baritone in his hand made it slightly less frightening. Or more.
Where do I go from here...
The statue of Helvetia, the mother of Switzerland, overlooking the Rhine. Her shield resting against the wall, spear down, wondering what her life's purpose is now.
Break time. Beer me.
When the marching brass & drum groups (known as cliques) took breaks, they would set their masks down next to their instruments and head inside for a beer.
WInter is coming
No cars are allowed in Zermatt, so these are two of the welcoming committee at the train station. As guests arrive via train, hotels send horse-drawn carriages to pick them up.
